Open data Edinburgh map – planning in context!

Greener Leith’s open data map of Edinburgh is now online at https://myleith.wordpress.com.

It brings several open datasets together in one place, including:

  • significant planned developments in the New Town & Broughton Community Council area (including links to the relevant documents on the CEC planning portal)
  • the wider urban planning context (housing land audit completions and schedule, local development plan, protected areas, listed buildings, open spaces, vacant and derelict land) Continue reading

Water of Leith Path clean up Sunday 28th February 10.30am – 1pm

(adapted from a post on Leith Links CC website)

Friends of the Water of Leith Basin

Hello

I took a walk along the WoL path recently to look at the spring flowers we planted  and was very disappointed by the amount of rubbish that has accumulated around Coalie Park and along the paths.

A joint cleanup has been arranged with the WoL Conservation trust for Sunday 28th February 10.30am – 1pm.

As usual we are meeting in Coalie Park – this link shows where it is:  http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=326617&Y=676480&A=Y&Z=110

Hope to see you there.
Best wishes

Don Giles

It’s been a busy couple of weeks!

Our Harvest festival celebration with the Himalayan Centre and St James Scottish Episcopal Church on the 24th of October was a really enjoyable event. We shared food, did a Himalayan dance workshop and a fermentation workshop, sang some songs and had a wonderful talk from Iain MacKinnon of the Scottish Crofting Federation. He read us a statement from the SCF which you can read here.
