Edinburgh airport community survey

(from an email from Edinburgh Airport)

As part of our desire to reach more of the community, Edinburgh Airport is keen to understand what people living and working in our community want to hear more about in relation to airport activities. To do this we have created a ‘Community Survey’ which asks what’s important to you. The survey only takes five minutes to complete and will provide invaluable feedback as we look to engage more with the local community. The results will not only help the organisation better understand what topics are of interest to the community but will also be important in helping us provide you with relevant information in the most effective ways. The survey can be completed online using the link below.

Edinburgh Airport Community Survey

If you would prefer a paper copy, please either email us at communications@edinburghairport.com or write to us at Freepost EDINBURGH AIRPORT – COMMUNICATIONS TEAM (please do not write anything else on the envelope), including a note requesting a copy of the Community Survey and a return address and we’ll post one out to you. The survey is open until 21st July 2019.

This survey is being administered by an independent research agency, Progressive Partnership. Please be assured that your confidentiality and anonymity is respected at all times in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK Market Research Society Code of Conduct. Any data collected from you is done so purely for research purposes and will be passed to Edinburgh Airport Limited only with your permission.

Free guided Newhaven walks

(adapted from a communication from Heart of Newhaven)

Join a walk, mainly flat terrain but with some cobbles, through the area with experienced, professional tourist guide Mary Kemp Clarke.

Founded in the 15th century, the village has grown organically around its harbour and encompasses a wealth of fascinating historical and archaeological detail and social history.

Walks: June 6th & 28th and August 7th & 9th.

Time: 2.00pm – 3.30pm (approx.)

Start: Meet Mary at The Harbour at 2.00 p.m. (She is a fully trained and qualified Blue Badge Tourist Guide accredited by the Scottish Tourist Guides Association since 1999, and has the confidence, experience and energy to show visitors from diverse backgrounds around the whole of Scotland, not just Newhaven! She’s also fluent in Spanish).

To book in advance: email admin@heartofnewhaven.co.uk(with Newhaven Walk in the title line)

Learn about links with the Canadian Goldrush and the Spanish Armada; the early days of photography; shipbuilding and fishing, as you pass the old fish market and the lighthouse; the oldest working publicVictorian school in Edinburgh; the last of the tenements and fishermen’s cottages.

Find out how the The Heart of Newhavencommunity initiative is working hard to save the old Victorian Primary School building when its pupils move on to a brand new school by purchasing the old school building and giving it a new lease of life as a community hub containing a Newhaven and Victorian Education museum as well asversatile spaces for inter-generational community use.
