Thursday 20th April Wellbeing for children and young people – Advice from Edinburgh Community Food and more, and added session around first aid for your beloved pets!! 

Wednesday 26th April Wellbeing for adults – Advice on how to deal with stress and anxiety, lots of signposting available, advice for LGBTQIA community members and their families/friends/colleagues from LGBT Wellbeing service, and a session on fitness from our local football club Hibernian FC! 

Thursday 4th May Employability & confidence – invaluable advice for those either out of work and seeking or those in work and needing a change. No queues, no awkward questions, just sound advice! You will also have access to large firms looking for staff who can give solid advice and guidance on getting into a well-paid career.

Wednesday 10th May How to feed a family on a budget, where are local food banks, how to grow own vegetables – get that well needed advice on making your money last longer and how to feed everyone on a tight budget!

Monday 15th May Education for older teens and adults

Friday 19th May Beat the burnout fitness session and silent disco – LIMITED SPACES SO BOOK AHEAD

Trams to Newhaven: Notification of First Round of Public Consultation

(The following is reproduced verbatim from an email from Edinburgh Council, via newhaven.tram@edinburgh.gov.uk. It does not represent LHNCC’s policy in any way.)

Beginning 19 March, the City of Edinburgh Council will undertake six weeks of public consultation and engagement on taking Edinburgh Trams to Newhaven. This will provide the public, local business and stakeholders with general information on the project, specific details around traffic management during construction and the proposed permanent design. We will also outline our current proposals on how we aim to support local business during the construction period.

During consultation your views will be sought on traffic management and phasing. This includes proposals for the closure of Leith Walk to all northbound traffic, with a single city-bound lane remaining open and the phased closure and reopening of Constitution Street. Work in these areas is expected to last for up to 18 months. Continue reading
