City of Edinburgh Council (CEC) is undertaking ‘warm and welcoming’ work, in the face of cost of living concerns. CEC suggests organisations can contribute in one or both of two ways:
The map will provide a visual representation of what’s available and where across the city. This will be static information which will inform people of location, accessibility, times available and further information via a web link or contact details. Please use this Word document to provide your organisation’s details via email to warm.welcoming@edinburgh.gov.uk.
The second part is a web page that will provide information about new activities. These will be added as and when organisations forward the information to us. Please use this Word document: email it to warm.welcoming@edinburgh.gov.uk. The information will also link back to your organisation’s website.
Where activities change or a new activity is to be added, a new pro forma will need to be emailed to warm.welcoming@edinburgh.gov.uk, to ensure the information held by CEC and subsequently promoted is accurate.
Please allow up to 48 hrs for the map and any new events/activities to go live.
The map and activities information will be created using a new Warm and Welcoming Spaces tile on CEC’s Cost of Living page. CEC would encourage organisations to link to that page when promoting anything, because the page has a wide range of useful information. Please contact warm.welcoming@edinburgh.gov.uk, not NTBCC, with any queries.
Although this is a CEC initiative, LHNCC’s web-weaver published it here because organisations and residents in LHNCC’s area may wish to know about it.

On 24 October 2022, there will be changes to the traffic management arrangements on the southbound section of Leith Walk between Annandale Street and Picardy Place to allow final surfacing and lining works to take place.
This will involve a closure of the southbound carriageway for approximately three weeks from Annandale Street to the Picardy Place turnback, including the full junction at London Road. The Picardy Place turnback will remain operational throughout the duration of these works. Continue reading

from the Rotary Club of Leith
The Rotary Club of Leith is holding a charity concert on Thursday evening 17 November at 7pm in South Leith Parish Church near the foot of Leith Walk.
We are delighted that the concert will showcase the musical talents of the high school pupils for the first time from both Leith and Trinity Academies and that it will be in aid of Kids Operating Room (KidsOR). The musicians have a tight schedule of exams and school performances and we appreciate their and their teachers’ commitment to the concert.
The small Scottish charity, KidsOR, gives access to attractive paediatric surgeries for life saving operations on children in Africa and South America and ensures there are trained staff to run them. During the concert there will be a short presentation about KidsOR.
Instead of tickets we welcome donations on entry with refreshments being available during the interval.
Time: 18:30 to 20:30, Tuesday 25 October
This meeting will be on Microsoft Teams.
