Mill Lane surgery

Mill Lane surgery has advised that it wishes to alter (i.e. shrink) its practice area. See the following extract from its letter to an LHNCC member, and the PDF of the full hard copy.

Dear XXX

ALTERATION TO PRACTICE AREA – MILL LANE SURGRY (71364), 4 MILL LANE, EDINBURGH EH6 6TL

Mill Lane Surgery has requested agreement from NHS Lothian to alter their practice boundary. As part of this process, I am writing to seek your views on this proposal.

The current practice area is:

“From Granton Square, up Granton Road, Ferry Road, lnverleith Row, Brandon Terrace, Dundas Street, Queen Street, York Place, Picardy Place, Leith Walk, London Road, Portobello Road, Kings Road, Firth of Forth back to Granton Square”

The proposed practice area can be defined as follows:

“From the Firth of Forth along Laverockbank Road and Lixmount A venue, west along the Hawthomvale Cycle Path, then south along the Goldenacre Cycle Path to the Water of Leith, Logie Green Road, Broughton Road to its junction with Dunedin Street, south to Claremont Crescent, West Annandale Street, Annandale Street, Leith Walk to Shrub Place Lane, railway line to Easter Road, Albion Road including Harrismith Place, Albion Place, Hawkhill Avenue, Lochend Road to the Restalrig Cycle Path, cycle path to Pimiefield Bank, Boothacre Lane, Seafield Place, Salamander Street to Carron Place, then north-east along Albert Road to the Firth of Forth.”

I enclose a tist of local practices whose boundaries include the Areas which the Mill Lane Surgery wishes to exclude, a supporting statement from the practice and maps illustrating the current and proposed boundaries, population density and a map plotting the location of all the practices included in the enclosed list.

The practice has confirmed that should the proposed boundary be approved, the practice will continue to care for patients currently on the patient list but outwith the proposed practice boundary area.
Should your Council wish to forward views on this proposal, please do so by 19 May 2023.

Yours sincerely
