According to the Edinburgh Evening News (11 February 2015), Newhaven Harbour may become a terminal for cruise-liners. LHNCC will do all it can to keep you informed about this, and would like your opinions. Please comment below to let us know what you think.
My wife and I have recently moved to Newhaven. We were attracted by the area’s history, sense of calm, and proximity to the sea, all the while being only a stone’s throw from Leith and the City Centre. In principle, I would welcome further development in the area, particularly within the reclaimed land and established docks area surrounding ASDA. The only thing that should not change is the historic core of the harbour and quayside, where the lighthouse now stands, and the vista overlooking the Forth. This is an iconic part of the city, and would arguably be just as much of an attraction to tourists as it currently is to locals.
